Maps & places Project concept

Hometown geography guessing game

Show a supplied landmark clue, let the player guess on a map, and score the distance from the known location.

A specific idea to build and test, not a ready-made template. Starting opens an editable prompt; it does not begin a paid generation.

The useful part

What someone would do.

  1. Read a permitted photo or text clue
  2. Place a map guess
  3. Reveal the location and distance-based score

The capabilities behind it

Why Div-idy fits this idea.

Div-idy provides building blocks for this project rather than a separate prebuilt integration for every use case. Here is the role each capability would play.

Google Maps

Div-idy's Google Maps integration supports maps, location markers, place search, and directions where available. Generated interface logic can connect those locations to filters, scoring, routes, and information panels.

For this project: Provide the map on which a player places a guess and sees the answer.

Interactive interfaces

Div-idy generates React and TypeScript interfaces from plain-language prompts. Forms, filters, calculations, timers, and browser graphics can run in the project without calling an AI model for every interaction.

For this project: Calculate distance and score from the guess and verified coordinates.

Browser-local storage

A Div-idy project can use browser-local storage for personal progress, preferences, and working information. This is useful when the tool should work with data on the current device rather than a shared project database.

For this project: Keep optional personal scores in the current browser.

Make the idea specific to you

Decide these details first.

  • Clues you can publish
  • Verified coordinates
  • Distance and scoring rules

Keep the promise realistic

What to check before relying on it.

This is a GeoGuessr-style location mechanic, not an affiliation or a promise of built-in Street View imagery. Use your own permitted clues.

Test the full workflow with your own information, including empty inputs, mistakes, mobile controls, and any published behavior. These concepts have not been individually built or verified.

Capability limits for this idea

Google Maps: Maps do not automatically supply Street View imagery, accurate accessibility details, live inventory, optimized routes, or a connection to another company's private data. Supply and verify the information the project needs.

Interactive interfaces: Generated code checks are not a substitute for testing the actual interactions, calculations, and mobile layout. Arbitrary packages and custom server programs are outside the prepared runtime.

Browser-local storage: Browser-local data does not automatically follow someone to another device and can be lost when browser data is cleared. It is not a secure multi-user account system.

Use it where it belongs

Keep it personal, or share it deliberately.

When you are ready, publish the pages visitors should see. Share the unlisted live link, embed a published page on a compatible website, or connect a supported www address or subdomain where domain connections are enabled. Anyone with a published link can open it.

Your starting point

A prompt you can make your own.

Build a hometown geography guessing game for a creator making a location challenge about their area.

Goal: Show a supplied landmark clue, let the player guess on a map, and score the distance from the known location.

The main flow should let a person:
1. Read a permitted photo or text clue.
2. Place a map guess.
3. Reveal the location and distance-based score.

Details I will supply or customize:
- Clues you can publish
- Verified coordinates
- Distance and scoring rules

Use these supported Div-idy capabilities:
- Google Maps: Provide the map on which a player places a guess and sees the answer. Use Div-idy's supported Google Maps integration and preserve required map attribution. Include a useful text or list fallback, handle invalid locations, and test map behavior on the address that will be shared.
- Interactive interfaces: Calculate distance and score from the guess and verified coordinates. Use supported React and TypeScript components and browser APIs. Keep ordinary calculations and interactions deterministic; do not call AI for them.
- Browser-local storage: Keep optional personal scores in the current browser. Keep this personal information in the current browser. Explain that it does not automatically sync, provide an explicit clear-data action, and never silently send it to a public record feed.

Important boundary: This is a GeoGuessr-style location mechanic, not an affiliation or a promise of built-in Street View imagery. Use your own permitted clues.

Make the layout work on desktop and mobile, with clear labels, keyboard-friendly controls, and useful empty, loading, and error states. Use clearly labeled sample information until I supply real content. Do not invent integrations, secure visitor logins, payments, or capabilities that are not available. Keep the first version focused on this main flow.
