How to Build an AI Chatbot with Div-idy

AI chatbots are one of the most common things people build with Div-idy—and they’re extremely easy. Just type that you want a chatbot, and Div-idy generates the chat input, chat history, and AI output. Then you can add “context” on the AI page to give your bot a personality or make it answer in a specific way.

Quick Answer

To build an AI chatbot, prompt Div-idy to create a chatbot page and describe what the chatbot should do. Div-idy takes care of the input, output, and chat UI. If you want the bot to have a specific personality or respond a certain way, open the AI page and add context (instructions) for the bot to follow.

One-line example

“Build an AI chatbot for my website. It should answer questions about my business and keep responses short. Use a clean chat UI with message bubbles and a typing indicator.”

Step-by-Step

1

Open (or create) a project

Go to your dashboard and open a project where you want to add a chatbot.

Open: /myaccount
Select a project → open the editor.
2

Prompt for a chatbot

Tell Div-idy you want a chatbot and what it should help with.

Prompt example:
Create an AI chatbot web page for my business.
It should answer FAQs, explain pricing, and help users get started.
Include a modern chat UI with message bubbles and a text input at the bottom.
3

Add context in the AI page (optional, but recommended)

If you want consistent behavior, add context in the AI page. This is where you define: tone, personality, rules, and how the chatbot should answer.

Example AI page context:
You are a helpful support assistant for Div-idy.
Tone: friendly, confident, concise.
Rules:
- Keep answers under 120 words.
- If the user asks about pricing, summarize plans and suggest the best tier.
- If you don’t know, ask a follow-up question.
4

Generate and test

Click Generate, then try a few messages to see if it responds correctly.

Click: Generate
Test: ask 5–10 real questions users might ask.
5

Iterate with simple prompts

Improve the UI and behavior by describing changes.

Follow-up prompt examples:
- Add suggested question buttons above the input.
- Add a “Clear chat” button.
- Add timestamps to messages.
- Format answers using bullet points when helpful.
- Make the chat widget docked in the bottom-right corner.
